The 60-Second Rule is the Game Changer Your Skin Needs

Raise your hand if you’ve ever slept with your makeup on.

Okay, raise your hand if you’ve ever splashed water on your face and called it a day.

Now, raise your hand if you’ve ever cleansed your face with a bar of hand soap.

If you've answered ‘yes’ to any of these, then congratulations! You’ve won a one-way ticket to the skincare naughty corner. But don't fret, we've got the tip you need to elevate your skincare routine to the next level.

And I’ll see you there, since I may or may not be guilty of having done the same at least once or twice in my life. 👀 Hey, sometimes you just need to crash after working a long day.

But let’s get serious for a moment.

I’ve said this before and I’m gonna say it again. Cleansing is the foundation of a good skincare routine. The truth is, having a well-formulated cleanser and good cleansing practices are incredibly beneficial for your skin.

Imagine this. You’ve spent an entire day moving around. Your skin has trapped sweat, dirt, oil, and maybe even makeup deep within your pores. And it carried those impurities for HOURS.

So clearly, a quick 10-second cleanse isn’t going cut it.

Now, imagine stepping into your bathroom to spend time on yourself. You reach for your favourite cleanser and apply it to your skin. Doesn’t taking the day off your skin feel SO euphoric

This is why I’m a huge advocate of the 60-second face cleansing rule. 😍

Essentially, it means that you’re giving your cleanser a whole minute for its ingredients to truly do their job.

A foaming cleanser in a white bottle next to a soothing creamy cleanser in a white bottle against a white background

Our Aloe Milk Cleanser with niacinamide is a deeply nourishing cleanser by nature. However, for you to get the most bang for your buck, give it about 60 seconds to work its magic. This way, the apricot kernel oil can really break down and dissolve impurities and the niacinamide + black tea extract + aloe vera combo can truly soothe and nourish your skin.

The same rule applies to our Face Foam cleanser, which contains blue-green algae. If you want to reap all its benefits, you've gotta give it a good 60 seconds for the natural BHA to even the texture of your skin and the azelaic acid + algae complex to brighten your complexion.

While following this 60-second rule, you’re also giving your face a mini massage. This is often overlooked, but it’s important to keep in mind. Your facial muscles have worked the whole day. By giving your skin a mini 60-second massage, you’re easing facial muscle tension and promoting blood circulation.

This is my favourite part.

It's a rare moment of alone time and zen for me. As a businesswoman, I’m constantly on my feet from dawn 'till dusk. I rarely have time to myself. And even when I’m alone, I'm constantly checking my phone for any work-related messages. Spending this small amount of time on myself is extremely grounding and precious. It allows me to refocus and reconnect with my inner core, which is very important.

So, if you want to elevate your skincare routine to the next level, give the 60-second cleanse a try. And don’t forget to choose a cleanser that suits your skin type. Both Aloe Milk and Face Foam cover any skin cleansing needs you may have 😉
