Supermoon vs. Jade Moon: Which Serum is Right for You?

We’re breaking down the differences, benefits, and key ingredients of our serums. This is your guide to finding your perfect serum match!

Serums are the most potent form of skincare. We need cleansers and moisturizers for our skin’s health, but serums are where we can really choose formulas dense with active ingredients that deliver the skin benefits we’re looking for. Plus, some serums absorb more quickly and deeply into the skin due to the molecular size of the formula. While cleansers wash away and creams tend to sit on the skin longer to protect, the ingredients in your serums dive deep into your skin.

Because serums are designed to target specific concerns, including everything from fine lines and wrinkles to skin congestion and texture, they’re the most customizable part of your skincare routine. That also means you’re inundated with a ton of serum options on the market to choose from, making it hard to know the right one (or ones) for you.

We might be biased, but at Graydon we think everyone should have a gentle serum suitable for daily use in their repertoire.

Take a look at our daily serums to find one that aligns with your #skingoals!

Why A Gentle, Daily Serum?

When it comes to using serums, consistency over intensity is always the best approach.  You'll see the best results by consistently using the same product, and by choosing one that's clinically tested for sensitive skin, you'll ensure it's gentle enough to use everyday without any adverse reactions or compromising your skin barrier.

But let me make a case for why everyone, not just those with sensitive skin, should use products that are formulated and clinically proven to be gentle. It really comes down to one thing: inflammation. When you use products that constantly set off your skin’s inflammatory response, you can damage your skin barrier, develop hyperpigmentation, get breakouts, and more.

While most serums are fine to use on a daily basis, serums that contain exfoliators or retinol can’t be used every day. There’s also certain ingredients like vitamin C that can irritate some people’s skin.

These are all ingredients that many dermatologists and skincare experts love and recommend, so it can feel frustrating to have skin that can’t tolerate it. We’ve heard from many people who have rosacea or aging skin that wish they could use retinol or vitamin C, but their skin just can’t tolerate it.

What’s amazing is that there are options formulated to be gentle on sensitive skin while delivering results–and that type of serum is something we at Graydon Skincare specialize in.

Our serums have carefully crafted blends of natural ingredients that offer multifaceted results.

We love gentle, effective, daily serum formulas that are packed with ingredients that deliver healthy, calm, and great looking skin. Unlike some companies who focus on one or two key ingredients in their formulas to deliver results, we carefully craft blends of natural ingredients that offer multifaceted results.

More About Supermoon Serum

Supermoon Serum is listed as a water-based serum, but in reality water (or “agua”) is nowhere to be found in the ingredients list. Instead, we use both maple sap water and malachite-infused water in this serum. Why? So even the “water” part of this serum is packed with skin-loving ingredients that add more hydration and protection from free radical damage to the skin.

Just like how James Bond is also known as 007, we consider Supermoon’s code name to be 6-in-1. That’s because we’ve identified 6 distinct skin benefits that Supermoon provides:

  • Firms skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines
  • Hydrates and plumps skin
  • Reduces the frequency of breakouts
  • Brightens skin
  • Improves texture
  • Protects skin from pollution

We also know that ingredients like dew bean and moringa don’t have the same immediate recognition as ones like retinol or vitamin C, so we thought it would be helpful to know some of the key reasons we chose these natural ingredients:

  • Moringa is full of natural vitamin C
  • Dew bean and bakuchi are botanical retinol alternatives that don’t sensitize your skin
  • Maple sap water is filled with amino acids, which help with cellular repair and collagen production
  • Blue tansy soothes skin and removes excess oil
  • Malachite is what helps protect skin against damage from pollution

Supermoon also contains ingredients you might be more familiar with, like vegan collagen, hyaluronic acid, and peptides.
