Meet The Carrick Brothers

Growing up in Stouffville Ontario, we’d head out every spring to our grandfather's sugar bush to help collect sap and make maple syrup. With 125 buckets to collect, we’d often get tired and drink the sap right out of the bucket for a natural boost of energy. Fast forward 25 years and we now collect sap from 46,000 trees across 800 acres, and still drink pure maple tree sap every season! However, we now package the 100% pure organic liquid from the tree in an eco-friendly tetra-pak - Maple2o.

Although drinking maple tree sap goes back centuries with North American Indigenous groups, it has only been the last couple decades where we’ve had actual research come out on the maple tree sap’s properties. The composition of maple sap is roughly 98% water and 2% sugar (it takes 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of syrup).

Maple tree water/sap contains more than 46 bioactive compounds that are essential to the tree’s life, growth and protection. The liquid holds a wide range of vitamins and minerals, organic and amino acids, polyphenols and phytohormones, making it nature's perfect hydrating, replenishing concoction straight from the tap! Not only does Maple2o serve as an organic health drink, it has a subtle sweetness that can be used to enhance culinary dishes, cocktails and skincare products!

Carrick Bros Tequila Sap-Soda

  • 1.5 oz Tequila – We prefer anejo!
  • 3 oz Maple2o (run it through the soda stream if you like it fizzy)
  • 1 lime wedge
  • Lots of ice
  • 1 Slice of Jalapeno (if you want a kick)
  • 1 Drizzle of maple syrup (if you have a sweet tooth)

  1. Cut your lime into wedges and set 1-2 aside.
  2. Add your tequila and Maple2o (fizzed or non fizzed) into a shaker, then top off with some ice.
  3. If you want to add some spice, you can cut a Jalapeno and add as many slices (depending on your spice level) into the shaker as well.
  4. If spice isn’t your thing, but sweetness is, add a drizzle of maple syrup into the shaker after adding your ingredients.
  5. Give it a good shake, around 10-15 seconds, but not too much since we don’t want to dilute it.
  6. Grab a glass and pour over some fresh ice.
  7. Add your lime wedges (or extra jalapeno slices) as garnish, and ENJOY!
