Having been a single mum for the last 10 years or so, my 'social life' in the evening has most often involved me curling up with my computer on my lap (glass of organic wine or cuppa tea in hand), searching the net for the latest and greatest hard to plant based ingredients to put in my Graydon Skincare line of products.
Sometimes I find amazing oils from India, and butters Africa and extracts from China. Getting them imported to use in my formulations, and verifying that they are pesticide free can be a bit of a challenge, so my preference is to use locally produced or at least Canadian made ingredients.
Canada isn't tropical enough to produce a lot of stuff but blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, strawberries, currants, pumpkins, grapes and broccoli are 8 things we Canucks happen to do exceptionally well. Its no coincidence that I use all the above (cold pressed oils) in my formulations.
I've learned that each ingredient has completely different properties. Who knew that the anti-oxidant super powers of broccoli seed oil in my Green Cream have a similar texture to silicone which makes products feel smooth and creamy. And who knew that those minuscule little cranberry seeds in Superfood Serum happen to make a super light oil which is perfect for penetrating dry sensitive skin on your face.
I admit it. I am a bit obsessed with stuff like this... so you know that when you get a Graydon Skincare product, that you are using something that has been very well researched and really works for your skin.
